Repair Shop

My name is Mark Kasten/Vice President and Senior Repair Technician for Weinermusic.com

Many of you may know me from over 25 years of attending and repairing woodwinds at shows and colleges across the country.

I have studied instrument manufacturing worldwide at major factories in Europe (at the Buffet and Selmer factories in the U.S.and Paris), in Taiwan at the LE Sax factory, and in Vancouver with Morrie Backun.

I have set up clarinets and saxophones for the most demanding artists, educators and students worldwide.

I have had the privilege to set up clarinets for Bil Jackson, Mark Nuccio, Naomi and Stanley Drucker, David Weber, Vanguel Tangaro, Robert Dilutis, Ted Lane, Brad Behn, Pat and William Blayney, Alexander Fiterstein, London Silas Shavers, and Ricardo Morales to name a few. I also have clainets that I set up in the Buffet Studio in New York.

I specialize in Buffet clarinets, Selmer saxophones, Yamaha clarinets and saxophones, as well as vintage and modern woodwinds. I have worked on many vintage horns, some older than Fred.

I have a large inventory of custom parts for the problem restoration, some my own design in addition to having a complete woodwind repair shop with the latest tools and supplies.

Weinermusic has a parts department with over 35 years of new and obsolete parts.

I oversee all the instruments serviced in our pro shop before leaving Weinermusic.com for the last 25 years and have set up thousands of woodwind instruments in that time.

All woodwind instruments are check on the "Truth Detector" The MAGNEHELIC (woodwind leak detector).

I specialize in "Emergency Repairs" Same day service available. Call or stop in, or overnight your instrument to me and receive it the back the next day (in some cases)

Call me! Let's talk about your woodwind needs and how I can help.
