Weiner Professional Oboe Reed
Weiner Professional Oboe Reed
SKU:DWOPRO MED HARD
Professional-level reeds, made in the American style, with blended scrape; V shaped tip (somewhat horizontal, like in the picture), ample heart, thick and strong spine and side rails, and well defined windows which blend in the heart. They are very comfortable, with a stable pitch, outstanding low and high registers, dark sound and great projection. They seem to better fit advanced students and pro players.
When finished, the length of the reeds goes from 69 to 69.5mm so they can produce a "C" crow at 4.40.
I use the "Lucarelli" shape, which is the combination of the "Mack-1" and "Bloom" shapes. This shape is quite innovative, since what Lucarelli achieved with it is, in his own words: "capitalizing Mack's stability and Bloom's warmth."
The staples I use are "Stevens" 47-mm thin-wall brass, tip #2. These professional tubes are made with natural cork, and YES, tubes do make a difference: they are a key factor in the color and projection of the sound, and the opening and pitch of a reed. The cane's diameter is 10.5-11mm. Only vintage Gonzalez cane is used for my reeds.
As an oboe player, you know how delicate new reeds are. Reeds are very sensitive to moisture, dry weather, change of temperature and altitude, and various other factors that might change your reeds' characteristics over time and also during shipping. Therefore, this implies that you be open to minor adjustments so the reeds perfectly adjust to your personal playing characteristics.
The reeds are guaranteed for any kinds of structural deficiencies. If you find anything wrong with them within 7 days, you are welcome to send them back, and I will be happy to replace them for you, as long as the reed has not been scraped or modified. I will not take back any reeds that have been scraped on or modified in any way.
